“I attend fan conventions and paint pop culture characters as well as people who cosplay and dress up in costumes as those characters. I use color and techniques similar to Van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec to portray fans and the culture in vibrant and unique ways. I use these styles to create parody works of pop culture, which I call fine art memes.”

In 2017 and 2018, Rob broke out of the Midwest region and began exhibiting work on a national stage. Rob expanded his markets to include New York, Portland, Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Orlando, Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Toledo. Rob’s artwork is collected by patrons coast to coast and internationally as well.

Rob’s artwork has been featured in print, television, and new media. It has been seen nationally and internationally. Sale of his work has raised more than $30,000 for charities and nonprofit organizations. Multiple pieces of Rob’s 2016 US Presidential Election political artwork impacted the political dialogue of  the presidential election and has been seen in The London Times, Bloomberg Politics, Reuters, Associated Press and The New York Post.

Rob’s popular culture artwork has been signed by a US Senator, an Emmy winner, and Academy Award winner, a New York Times Bestselling Author, a US Presidential Candidate, and a Stanley Cup winning NHL hockey team.

Rob’s collaborative artwork is in a gallery collection which includes work of master artists such as Chagall, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Gauguin, Lichtenstein, Matisse, Michelangelo, Monet, Picasso, Renoir, and Warhol, among others.

A former college administrator, Rob continues to educate, and has instructed thousands of adults at over 750 social painting events. Rob also is an instructor at the Oak Park Art League in Oak Park, Illinois. His experience as an educator guides his art practice, and he has evolved his style to incorporate learning outcomes as part of the artistic statement of his works. Rob hopes that his art not only pleases those that see it, but also helps provoke thoughtful discussion and educate the viewers.

Rob is a Chicago native who challenges concepts of perception through his artwork. Rob began his practice at a young age, and continued his love of art through his high school and early college experiences. After earning a B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University, Chicago, Rob worked as a media buyer before returning to Loyola University Chicago to earn his M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration. As a college administrator he focused on helping students at risk, and turned to pointillism for positive replenishment. It was not long before he embarked on a career as a professional artist.
